Fix AOL Sign-in Error With Effective Methods

AOL Sign-in Error: Follow these Methods to Solve It

After rebooting your computer, try to sign in your AOL mail and check whether the error still appears or not. If yes, then you need to apply other methods.

Method 1 – Sign in to your AOL Mail Again  

When you sign in your AOL mail account for the first time and face issue with sign-in, you need to close the AOL mail login window. 

After closing the tab, wait for a few seconds and then open the AOL mail login page. In that page, put the Username and Password and then again sign-in your account to check if the problem still arises or not. 

Method 2 – Correct the Username and Password

  3. On the right of the window, select the Turn off Windows Firewall button from the Private Network Settings and Public Network Settings section.

After doing this, click on the OK button to save the changes. Then restart your computer and check if the problem still persists or not. 

Method 4 – Uninstall the Security Software

After turning off the Windows Firewall, if the error is still present, then you need to simply remove the security software from the system. Follow the directions cited below:

  1. Press the Win + I keys together to launch the Settings window.
  2. From the Settings window, go to the Apps tab.
  3. When the Apps window opens, click on the Apps and Features tab on the left panel.
  4. Scroll down the page and find the security software, select it. After that, click on the Uninstall button to remove it. 

After removing the security software, reboot the device and then check if the problem is solved or not. 

Method 5 – Update the Web Browser

An older version of the web browser can cause an issue with AOL mail sign in. So, you need to keep the browser up to date. 

If you are using Google Chrome Application, follow the directions:

  1. Select Google Chrome application to open it.
  2. Go to the Menu and select the Help option.
  3. When the Help section opens, click on the About Google Chome button. In the About Google Chrome window, Chrome will find whether an update is available or not. 
  4. If an update is present, then it will automatically update the browser. Once the browser is updated, sign in your AOL mail account.  

If you have Mozilla Firefox application, perform the steps cited below:

  1. Open the Mozilla Firefox application on your computer.  
  2. Navigate to the Menu list and then click on the Help button.
  3. Next, select the About Mozilla Firefox button to open that window. 
  4. From that window, Firefox will check whether any updates are available or not. If Firefox finds an update, then it’ll download the latest version of the browser automatically. 

Once the update process is complete, reboot your PC and then try to sign in to your AOL mail. 

Method 6 – Remove the Cache Data, Cookies, and Browser Data

If the browser is full with cache data, cookies and browser data then you can face this problem on AOL mail. 

So, you need to remove them from time to time in order to solve this issue on the system. 

If you have Mozilla Firefox application, follow these steps:

  1. Firstly, double-click on the Mozilla Firefox application to open it.  
  2. From the Mozilla Firefox application, navigate to the menu icon located at the top right corner. After that, choose the Options button.
  3. When the Options window opens, navigate to the Privacy section, select the Clear your recent history option. 
  4. From the next window, set the Time range to clear to ‘Everything’ and then click on the Clear Now option to remove them.
  5. Next, go to the left panel and select the Advanced tab. In the Advanced section, take the mouse to the Network tab, select it. 

Scroll down the page and locate the Cached Web Content and then select the Clear Now option.  

If you are using Google Chrome application, follow these directions:

  1. At first, locate the Google Chrome application, double-click on it to launch.  
  2. Once you are in Google Chrome window, select the Menu button at the top right corner. After that, choose the Settings button from that list.
  3. Scroll down the page until you find the Advanced tab, click on it from the Settings window.
  4. When the Advanced window opens, select the Clear Browsing data button on the Privacy section. 
  5. In that window, set the time range that you want and then tick on the Cookies Data, Cache Data, and Browsing Data. After that, you will see the Clear Data button, click on it to clear them.

Next, again open the Browsing Data window,  go to the Advanced tab, choose all the items and then select the Clear Data button. 

After performing all these steps, reboot your computer and then check if the AOL mail sign-ins without any error. 

Method 7 – Turn On Java Applet Scripting

If the Java Applet Scripting is turned off, then you can come across the AOL sign-in error on your computer. So, you should turn it on from the browser. 

For Google Chrome 

  1. Launch the Google Chrome application on your PC.
  2. Select the Settings button from the menu list.
  3. When the Settings window opens, scroll down the page and select the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Advanced window, go to the Privacy and Security section and then select the Content settings button. 

After that, select JavaScript and then click on the Turn on Allowed (recommended) button to enable it. 

For Mozilla Firefox

  1. Firstly, double-click on the Mozilla Firefox application and go to the Menu section.
  2. In the Firefox Menu, click on the Add-ons icon.
  3. From the Add-ons window, click on the Plugins at the left panel.
  4. On the right window, scroll down the page until you find the Java applet plugin box. From the dropdown on the right side, click on the Ask to Activate button to turn it on. 

Once you are done, close the Add-ons window and then sign in your AOL mail account.
